Happy 16th Birthday Sarah

Posted by in Blog

Sarah was adamant that she didn’t want a 16th Birthday party. She just wanted to keep it all low key. But then we went to Disneyland and that all changed. A Disney themed party was requested and that’s what our Princess got. Sarah loves Pinterest and Mammy loves a challenge. So together we made the best Disney party ever. It’s a running joke that Sarah is the middle child and that we forget her but the thing is we could never forget Sarah. She actually ties our family together….read more

Disneyland Paris

Posted by in Blog

Mark and I were on the plane after a trip to the Temple, we talked about the idea of going to Disneyland Paris. We mentioned it to Alice who said she would love to go back and we gently persuaded my Dad to come along too. The plan was all set up from there. We wanted to keep it a surprise from the girls and Jake. So all plans had to be made in secret. My Dad who was very aprehensive about it all said all along that he would…read more

Our Superhero

19 years of parenting and no broken bones, that was until the 22nd June. It started out like any other day in the Coffey house. Amy and Mark went to work, Sarah was given a list of chores to do before I came home from work and Jake and I went to work/school. I had to work late and had arrived home about 12:30. Sarah had made lunch and we were just about to sit down and eat it when I got a phone call from Jake’s school telling…read more

Introducing Baby Molly

Posted by in Blog

On the 22nd of July this little lady entered the world, Molly Rose Lamon. She is the cutest little girl. All her cousins were happy to see their new cousin but Jake was very smitten. When I went to visit Lesley in hospital Mark and Jake dropped me off. They went to go get some Ice cream while I was visiting, which Jake was happy about. When they were finished they called to let me know. Lesley said it was very quite on the ward and for the boys to…read more

Family History, I am doing it.

Last year we went to a Family History Fair. I learned a lot but not as much as my kids. I was stuck trying to figure something out when I came home and all 3 kids came to my rescue. They caught the Family History bug. We have had a lot of Family Home Evenings on the subject and they have all been taught by the kids. One of the Family Home Evenings we had was inviting a grandparent over. This was also a Personal Progress and a Faith in…read more

My Goal, Lakes 10k

Posted by in Blog

In January this year we all sat down and set some goals for ourselves. We tried to help the girls and Jake by giving them some ideas and that they didn’t have to be big things. Things like Try a new dish Be less (something) Read more books Visit a new place Do good deeds In a fit of madness one of the things I put down was to run a 10k race. You know that was very easy putting it on to paper but had I really thought it…read more

Which Was Best? Harry Potter Studios or Legoland?

This year we didn’t go on a big family holiday, for two reasons. The first was that Mark and I had celebrated our 20th Anniversary away and the second was that we were paying for Amy to college. Jake wasn’t too impressed with not getting his sun holiday this year. But we do plan on making it up to them next year though. They want the destination to be a surprise and we can’t wait to surprise them because we have already booked everything So Amy, Sarah and I had booked to…read more

20th Anniversary

Who knew being married was going to be this good? I had only imagined it was going to be good but after 20 years and 3 wonderful children later, it has been the best decision we have ever made. We have had the most amazing time. To celebrate, we decided we wanted to go away. In the mean time, we had been talking to our friends Brenda and Trevor and they were talking about about coming to Ireland around that time. A few Skype calls later our trip was organised. Brenda and…read more

Graduation

Posted by in Blog

After 14 years and what seemed like a long time away finally it happened, “Graduation”. I was dreading that evening but I think I cried more during the day than I did that evening. It was a long evening but they had to celebrate the last 6 years and put it into 2 hrs. I loved, even though the pressure is on because off the exams, that each person that spoke always told them to ‘not stess’ and that ‘no matter what your results are, you can find a way…read more

My Baby Boy Turned 8

Posted by in Blog

Ever since Jake turned 7 he has been planning his Baptism. It’s was a big milestone for him and he was preparing early. He loves having the missionaries over and was more than happy to have them come and remind him a little of what he needed to do to be spiritually prepared to be baptised. The night before his baptism he had his interview with the Bishop. On the way down in the car he asked if Mark and I could stay outside. In his words “He needed to…read more
